The NEPL tipped off their Annual Baseball & Softball meeting for the upcoming 2010 season to a huge audience at Vogt Recreation center last night with member club Presidents and AD meeting while the NEPL’s Basketball All Star games were winding down.
NEPL President Frank Connelly welcomed the representatives with Soda and Pizza and gave a brief recap of the past Basketball season. Generally the leagues board was pleased with the conduct of the players and coaches and how any problems were resolved at the club level and stressed thanks and asked for continued support.
Frank then got into the baseball & softball session by first emphasizing some standard points.
As usual we will try to be finished by Thursday 7-1 but cannot guarantee anything with the
Weather being so unpredictable but we would strive for 14-16 games plus playoffs.
Online registration would be for 2 weeks beginning 3-7 and continuing to 3-21-2010
The season opens on April 11, 2010, Second half begins May 10th.
Payment night (Team Fees) would be conducted 3-21 at a site to be announced.
Coaches meetings would be conducted March 24-27.
Paperwork nights conducted week of April 5 -9.
The hosting of the leagues Annual All Star Event is open to any club that has a membership to
Host in an early June weekend.
Baseball & Softball rules were under review but very little would likely be changed.
When committing a team the League would like to have the coaches CELL PHONE number.
Cards are not to be laminated PRIOR TO BEING APPROVED (STAMPED) By the NEPL.
Fees for umpires would remain the same as would the team commitment fees which are posted
On the NEPL web site under More Softball or More Baseball pages.

Older Umpire Clinic/Meetings are held each TUESDAY and NOT each Wednesday
as the Umpire Page said. Sorry for any confusion. The younger divisions meet on
Wednesdays.
