On Sunday May 17, 2009 the Northeast Peanut League sponsored a benefit for the FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE, LODGE #5. The funds from donations, raffles, auctions and such went to benefit the Survivors Fund of the Philadelphia Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #5.
The NEPL umpire association donated all of their fees for these regular season counting games to the fund.
The league presented a check for $23,000.000 for the F.O.P. Survivors Fund, which benefits the families of fallen Philly police officers.
Also lending their time as sponsors with prizes and donations were Paddy Whacks Bar, Curran’s Irish Inns I & II, Savage Automotive Technologies, Serenity Hair Salon, Friendship Pharmacy, Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Flyers, Captain Mike Saia, Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office, Parties and More, Cheryl Bakeoven, Rita’s Water ice, Tastykake Bakers, Jeanine Price, Debby Speaker and Family.
